KIZUNAWAY
Kizunaway is an invitation to experience Japan differently.
Through a curated collection of antiques, private journeys across Kyushu, and years of hands-on experience,
we share a more personal approach to Japanese culture — rooted in objects, places, and human connections.
OUR SELECTION
Explore our online catalog, curated with a deep love for Japanese art and tradition.
You’ll find:
– Pieces from our personal collection
– A small number of restored hanakago baskets using Musubitsugi, our fabric-based homage to kintsugi
– Occasionally, select items sourced through trusted partners
Each piece is selected with care for its craftsmanship, story, and quiet presence.

KYUSHU EXPERIENCES
Beyond objects, Kizunaway is also about experiencing Japan.
These experiences focus on discovering traditional towns, natural landscapes, and places we personally value — at a slower and more meaningful pace.
While antiques may occasionally be part of the journey, the emphasis is on atmosphere, culture, and authentic discovery.
Each day is tailored to your interests, with guidance adapted to your rhythm and curiosity.

SOURCING & EXPERTISE
Looking for something special from Japan?
We offer a personalized approach to help you find authentic antiques and objects with character — whether through direct sourcing, purchase assistance, or expert verification.
For those wishing to go further, we also propose tailored antique-focused journeys across Kyushu.
These experiences provide access to markets, shops, and local dealers, offering a deeper understanding of the sourcing process in Japan.

ABOUT US
At Kizunaway, we believe that an object is more than a possession — it is a fragment of time that continues its journey.
Our name reflects this philosophy:
“Kizuna” (絆) represents the bonds between people, while “way” evokes a path — a journey of discovery through Japanese culture and aesthetics.
Our work is guided by a respect for materials, craftsmanship, and the stories carried by each piece.
Based in Kurume, we combine over 35 years of shared experience living between cultures, offering both objects and insights shaped by that journey.
